Background

The idea for RailReLease originates from my background as logistics consultant in the rail freight industry. Periods for transportation contracts are becoming shorter as a result of diverse developments in the rail freight transport market. This results into higher costs and more uncertainty for shippers and agents. Because the costs for wagons and locs for short term use are much higher than the long term contracts, costs for renting assets increase. This puts pressure on the profit which logically results into preference for the use of other modalities than rail freight transportation services.
RailReLease is dedicated to making rail logistics more appealing by supporting rail transport agents and shippers with their own assets and so create more efficiency and flexibility in the acquisition and use of assets. Costs can be lowered and profit can be increased by using materials more effectively. In the end rail transportation will become more competitive and will be able to develop more rapidly.
